RedR Register

Who should apply to join the RedR register?

A fundamental requirement is a genuine humanitarian concern to help other people. Our key operating principle is: people for jobs, not jobs for people. We aim to provide the appropriate person for the job. We do not aim to find jobs for our members.

Working through RedR enables you to use your professional skills to help others in a practical way and allows you to make a humanitarian contribution without necessarily having to leave your regular employment. Membership of RedR can also help those who wish to make a full-time commitment to humanitarian work.

RedR members are offered high quality training and preparation and then, if available, they undertake short-term assignments (usually between 3-6 months long) with front-line humanitarian relief agencies. Following the completion of their assignment, many return to their usual employment. When on assignment, members are employed directly by the recruiting agency, not by RedR. Salary, terms and conditions will therefore widely vary between agencies ranging from volunteer status to daily consultancy rates.
