How long do members stay on the register?
We regard membership as a long term commitment and recognise that members may not be available for assignments for extended periods.
Many such members however make important contributions to RedR's work in other ways.

Can I apply for RedR membership through more than one office?
N
o, a candidate should apply for RedR register membership through one accredited office only. Practical considerations would normally mean that this would be the office best placed to interview the candidate.
At the time of applying a candidate will be asked to confirm whether they have applied for RedR register membership through any other RedR office. If the answer is yes, that office will be consulted before the application is taken forward.

Once accepted the member is a RedR register member through the office that accepted them. That office will maintain the member's file and should be the member's first point of contact on all RedR business - including shared assignment requests.

A member may ask to have their register membership and file moved to another accredited RedR office - but there would have to be a good reason (e.g. moving to that country, new RedR organisation in that country etc.).

Both the "old" and "new" office would need to consider the transfer; the "new" office would have the final say as to whether to accept a transfer and under what conditions (updated CV, more recent referees etc.). If a transfer is agreed, the member and file move to the "new" office lock, stock and barrel. There should be no duplication of register membership or files.
