RedR Training

Are you:

  • considering working in humanitarian relief?
  • reviewing your existing relief experience and skills?
  • employed by a relief agency?
  • on an agency's emergency register?
  • on the RedR register of relief workers?

Each of RedR's offices organise training courses, to form an extensive and well-respected programme of courses for relief workers of all disciplines: RedR is also running a training programme on NGO Security in a number of areas affected by conflicts.

"What better way to get it right when it matters than to have a chance to 'make a complete mess of things' in rehearsal?"

RedR Training can help you:

  • develop your existing skills;
  • acquire new skills;
  • discover more about relief work;
  • boost your confidence;
  • meet other relief workers, exchange experiences and make new contacts.

"A great opportunity to have a go at the practical side of things and talk to specialists''

RedR Training courses, widely recognised by humanitarian aid agencies, can also count towards formal schemes of Continuing Professional Development.

Training methods

The emphasis is on active learning through participatory group exercises, case studies, role-play, focused discussion, simulations and practice with equipment used in the field. Training is planned and presented in collaboration with relief agencies and specialist organisations. Informal exchange of experience is a vital part of every course.

An extensive evaluation of RedR's UK training programme was undertaken by an independent consultant.
